Job Description
Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a driven and ambitious Junior Business Development & Procurement Assistant to support our growing business.
This role is ideally suited to someone at the start of their career, looking to develop across business development, procurement and bid writing within the construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the preparation of tender submissions, bids and supporting documentation

Completing Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs) and client onboarding documentation

Supporting business development activities, including identifying new opportunities

Liaising with merchants and material suppliers to obtain quotations

Negotiating competitive material rates and maintaining supplier relationships

Supporting procurement across live projects, including material scheduling and tracking

Assisting with cost comparisons and supplier evaluations

Maintaining accurate records of suppliers, rates and tender information
Requirements
Essential:
-
GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Good attention to detail, particularly when completing structured documents (e.g. PQQs/tenders)

Organised and able to manage multiple tasks

Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Desirable Skills & Experience:

Currently studying towards a qualification in construction, business, or a related field

Previous experience (placement, internship or part-time) in construction, procurement or administration

Understanding of tendering processes or PQQ submissions

Exposure to supplier engagement or negotiation

Basic commercial awareness (costs, margins, value for money)

Interest in developing a career in business development or procurement within construction
